Recast was hired by Dwell Magazine to produce a series of 11 videos showcasing the Dwell Nexthouse model home.

Dwell Magazine – Nexthouse Model Home

In partnership with Dwell Magazine, The NextHouse model home was created by Joel Turkel during his time at Empyrean International, the acclaimed prefab modernist architecture firm based in Boston, MA.  Considered to be one of the most important examples in the modernist prefab movement, the NextHouse model home features unique, modernist architectural elements mixed with the warmth of natural materials, set in a beautiful wooded setting.  What makes this house even more unique is that it was accomplished utilizing an engineered, prefabricated process.  Pre-engineered for tighter tolerances and quality control, this house was prefabricated in a climate-control, indoor manufacturing facility in order to control costs, time, waste, and quality.

Nexthouse Video Production

In order to truly capture the nature of this house, as well as showcase all of the appliance and fixture manufacturers involved in this project, Dwell relied on Recast to produce a series of videos showing off this unique home.

Recast staged a full production complete with script writing, acting talent, professional lighting, cameras, sound, and editing.  Even though this was a low-budget production, relatively speaking, Recast delivered to Dwell exactly what they were looking for, on time and on budget.  The videos ran on Dwell’s website, however you can see them here:
