Recast Storms The ESPN Winter X Games 14

January 28-31, 2010—Founder of Recast Marketing, Dave Newey, launches Polarmax into the alternative sports and snowboard crowd with a presence at the 2010 ESPN Winter X Games 14 in Aspen, CO.

With a record breaking 84,000 in attendance at the Winter X Games 14, David Newey, of Recast Marketing, along with his marketing street-team, introduced Polarmax to a new audience of snowboard and alternative sports fans.  Following Recast’s work with Polarmax to rebrand the client, complete with new logos, website, marketing materials, and marketing strategy, Recast set X Games 14 as the stage to launch the new brand.  With plenty of print and online advertising leading up to the event, including a very successful Facebook advertising campaign promoting the “win-a-trip” to the X Games for the two lucky fans on behalf of Polarmax (which resulted in over 2,600 entries), the new Polarmax brand is out!

Over 80,000 spectators stopped by the Polarmax event tent located at the base of the super-pipe (where Shaun White performed his magic) to register for daily Polarmax raffles and pick up free Polarmax products.  Many visitors were already familiar with Polarmax, the baselayer clothing company that has been around for 25 years, however the majority of young snowboard and freestyle skiing fans were introduced to Polarmax for the first time.  Displayed in the tent was the 2010 new lineup which included hats, headbands, hoodies, graphic baselayers, and plenty of new female styles as well.  Capturing all of the action, Recast also produced video coverage of the event posted here on the new Polarmax website:

Given the excitement over the samples, displays, and giveaways, Polarmax should find plenty of action in this new target demographic, and will no doubt have a new legion of snowboarding, freestyle skiing, and snowmobile fans!

Having been proclaimed by ESPN as the most professionally run sponsor at the X Games, Recast is looking forward to duplicating the success again next year!  For more information on how Recast can help your company with rebranding, marketing efforts, and events, please visit www.Recastidea.com.
